Boys Varsity Coach John Barata
-Coach John Barata has been Head Coach of the Tigers since 2009.
- Coach Barata led the Oliver Ames Boys Soccer program to its first MIAA State Title in 2015 with an undefeated season (18-0-3)
-His teams have made 11 State Tournament appearances, winning 3 South Sectional Championships and 8 league championships.
-The overall record for the Tigers for his career is 156-40-38.
-He was named Eastern Massachusetts Soccer Coach Association Coach of the Year in 2012 Division 1, Eastern Massachusetts
Coach of the Year 2015 Division 2, Hockomock Sports Coach of the Year in 2012, 2013 and 2017, Boston Globe Coach of the Year
in 2014, United Soccer Coaches Association Coach of Significance Award 2017, 2018 New England Soccer Journal's 50 Most
Influential People in Soccer, and 2020 Massachusetts Youth Soccer Girls Competitive Coach of the Year.
-John currently serves as the Director of Coach and Player Development for Easton Soccer.
-John is also an instructor for Massachusetts Youth Soccer Association and a former coach for the Olympic Development Program.
-As a player, John graduated from Assumption College in Worcester, MA where he was the Captain of the Men's Soccer Team from 1997-1999.
-He was an All-New England All-Star selection in 1999 and was a three time member of the NE-10 All-Conference Team. John received the highest athletic accolade from the college -- The Premier Male Senior Student-Athlete Award -- as well as defensive, offensive, and most valuable player of the year awards.
-John was recently inducted into the Immaculate High School "Hall of Fame" Class of 2009 and the Assumption College in October 2011.
-John currently holds the USSF "A" License, the NSCAA Premier Diploma, the USYS National Youth License and NSCAA
Director of Coaching Diploma, a United Soccer Coaches Master Coach and Leadership Certificate from the University of Delaware,
and is a USSF Grass Roots License Instructor.
-He has trained professionally in both the United States and abroad. John trained briefly with the New England Revolution and Portuguese club, Benfica.
-John resides in Hanson, MA with his wife Erin and two children Timothy and Elizabeth.

Boys Junior Varsity Coach Dan Garzoglio
-Dan Garzoglio, Señor G, joined the Oliver Ames Boys soccer program in 2003.
-He has completed ten years as the Junior Varsity / Assistant Varsity coach with time taken away in 2010 – 2011 for a sabbatical in Spain.
-During the his years of coaching, the JV team has competed at a high level and enjoyed success with consecutive winning seasons.
-Coach Garzoglio started playing soccer when he was 10. He played for both the town and school system of Brockton.
-More recently, Dan has played in men’s and coed leagues in Massachusetts and Rhode Island.
-Señor G has been a member of the Easton community since September 1997 when he began his teaching career as a member of the World Language Department.
-His Undergraduate degree is from Stonehill College and his two Masters degrees are from Framingham State College.

Boys Assistant Coach Jake Sunderland
-Coach Sunderland has worked with the Oliver Ames Boys soccer program for over a decade spread over two different stints. He worked with the program from 2003-2009 and again from 2018-present.
-During his current stint the JV program has experienced continual improvement and success including an undefeated season in 2020. More importantly it has produced numerous players who have found success at the varsity level and beyond.
-Along with coaching at Oliver Ames he also coaches for the New England Navigators.
-Coach Sunderland played at Coyle Cassidy High School where he is a member of the Hall of Fame.
-He holds a Grassroot License from the U.S. Soccer Federation and is completing his USSF National “D” License.
